The Commando Association holds an annual pilgrimage at the Shrine of Remembrance
each year on the last Sunday of September.
Victorian Commando veterans and their families unable to attend the cairn at Tidal River can mark their special
occasions at the memorial tree on the Shrine Reserve.

This is one of the best activities of the year, and we require as many members as possible to attend, to outshoot
the SAS Association.
BBQ available, and the club is licensed or BYO.
Cost is $15 with a safety briefing at 10.30 am to be attended by all shooters.

The cairn was established in 1964 and dedicated in November of that year by the
Lieutenant Governor of Victoria - Lieutenant General Sir Edmund Herring. The restored cairn was re-dedicated in
November 2007 by Victorian Premier and Minister for Veterans' Affairs John Brumby.
